The winners of the Norway Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) were revealed during a virtual ceremony on Thursday 21st November 2024.
An exciting new development for this year is that the Norway winners from all categories (except Lifetime Achievement) will be featured in the first Global OSPAs set to take place in 2025! Winners will automatically qualify for the global competition.
The winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be inducted into the newly launched Security Hall of Fame. Learn more about this here.
2024 Norway Award Winners:
Outstanding New Security Product
PrepJam by Secure Practice
For Secure Practice, this award helps us in scaling the PrepJam service to promote interactive and accessible cybersecurity exercises to everyone. We are on a mission to increase cyber resilience among organisations and people. Through a concept of national tours for open exercise events, we’ve trained more than 5000 IT, security and preparedness professionals in Norway and Denmark this year alone, for better incident management and to also become trainers themselves. In parallel with launching the PrepJam software as a service, we are now ready to take the concept to new countries, and we trust this award will help us reach new global users and partners.
Outstanding In-House Security Manager/Director
Tore Molde – Lyse AS
Outstanding Security Consultant
Modar Ismail – KPMG
Being nominated is an honor in itself; making it to the final two is a victory on its own. Finally standing as the winner is a testament to the fact that hard work over time pays off. I’m also looking forward to competing globally.
Lifetime Achievement
Runar Karlsen
Appointed by the National Police Directorate to the Professional Council; helped develop competence objectives, curricula, and re-approval requirements for security guards. Published “The Watchman’s Profession” textbook and developed an exam database with over 20,000 users. Led a project with Oslo Police District for security cooperation agreements. Engaged with politicians and helped develop the Private Security Sector in Norway. Helped ensure all security guards in Norway meet new competence standards.
I am honoured to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at The Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs)! It’s incredibly rewarding to see the work we have done in Norway be recognised like this. Many people have been involved in the work over the years and this is a recognition of their work also.
The prize will be a motivator for the further work of developing and implementing the private security industry within societal security in Norway. It is also a recognition of the many thousands of security guards who stand in the front line every single day.
The event organisers would like to thank all those who have helped to make the Norway OSPAs event such a success including: all the supporting associations and judges; sponsors: Edith Cowan University (trophies and certificates).
